The biggest differences between the early 5.7's and 6.1's is the exhaust manifolds and cat. back (larger on the 6.1), and there is no EGR or MDS on the 6.1. The 05 engine might be slightly different - if yours has plug wires instead of coils you will need another 05 as far as I know. The RAM engines have accessories in the wrong place, starter motor might be on the wrong side, the offsets for the water pump/alternator/power steer pump seems to be different too.
