Since the kinetic blade doesn't get any bonus dmg from STR though, a DEX build is almost certainly a better idea. Just make sure you get at least 14 STR to wear heavy armor unencumbered. You can find/buy mythril full plate fairly early in the game, so getting a decent AC with some DEX is quite possible. Dwarf: A Consitution buff is a nice start, and you can build on that if you're building a Healer or Support Witch. Elf: One of the best choices for a Witch, Elves get a +2 bonus to both Intelligence and Dexterity, plus a heightened resistance to Elven magic and Enchantment spells. In KM, I usually let the Tiefling sisters handle any Kineticist needs for my party, but if you want your MC to sling elemental doom too/instead, go for it.

For example for kinesicist, I have heard people saying that earth and fire are the deal for damage, but right now for example, my lvl7 kinecist thunderstorm (air + lightning) hits at 20-60 damages, looks more than decent to me.
