If you start the vehicle and let it idle, then grab those wires by the battery box and move them around, chances are you'll be able to get the vehicle to shut down. 2018 Escape and a few times the engine would completely die at a light/stop sign (during the auto start/stop) and you actually had to put it in park and restart the engine. The Ford dealer checked a code and replaced a sensor. Since then the problem has gotten much worse. This is typical of an undercharged battery w/START/STOP.

The BCM will turn off the low beam lamp if it's not drawing enough current, hence the reason the CANBUS friendly units that draw more power or have built in load resistors to keep the BCM happy. The fog lamps and high beams are not monitored by the BCM, hence the reason for those working.Over time, this will drain your battery.
