Thor being stronger than Odin made no sense. Prime Odin defeated both Hela and Prime Surtur. Thor can't do anything against them. Odin probably meant that Thor is stronger than his weak old self. It is possible that he is stronger with Stormbreaker though. Odinforce was never mentioned in the MCU. Thor just got much better lightning powers.
