Mine is MX 5100 and I have HST filter and a reservoir filter. They are expensive from kubota, but this is NOT your best opportunity to save $. Same for crankcase filter, stay w/ OEM. You are fortunate. The UDT in my tractor was NOT synthetic, so the OM required a filter + fluid change.

Apparently a lot of guys had good success reducing the whine by filling the lower half of the ROPS with some kind of insulation material - forget exactly what they were using. Supposedly the hollow ROPS transmits or amplifies the noise.
