I see the Speed Six as something of interest to the hard core Ruger collector. As a concealed carry gun, the SP101 is better suited. I have a Security Six 357 and a Service SIx 38 Special. The 357 is just an exceptional firearm (with its action job). The 38 Special was bought in like new condition and will never see enough rounds to wear it down.This allowed more metal in the frame and cylinder without increasing the overall weight. I have a blued 4" Security-Six (half lug) and a Stainless 4" GP100 (full lug). The GP100 weighs 39 oz, the Security-Six weighs 38 oz.
