John deere gator clutch problems.
XUV 550 hard shifting. My 550 has 41 hours on it and has been back to JD for shifting problems. JD did a fine job, put the new clutch kit in it. It was fine for the next 30 hours, now it is really, really hard to shift. I have to shut it off to get it from F to R or back from R to F.
Gator Clutch Problem. XUV590M with the dreaded sticky clutch problem. Has 22 hours on the machine. 6 months out of warranty. I called up the dealership and complained. They agreed to fix it for $170, saying they would give a little and get JD to give a little. My comment is that if the clutch is working properly, I would ignore it, reinstall the clutch and enjoy life with your Gator. If that clutch IS giving trouble, I would not put money, time and effort into reconditioning that particular core. I would invest in a rebuildable core and recondition it properly. I would confirm with Team what you would be getting. I've gotten one of their aftermarket Rapid Response clutches and the weights and spring are for a gas engine which tend to have a wider RPM range than a diesel. We ordered high performance belts but haven't had a chance to put one on. However, did talk to a friend yesterday. His brother-in-law is experiencing the same issue with his new gator. He was told it could a clutch issue.
