Xci is what you get from dumping a physical cartridge. Nsp is what the Nintendo eshop uses to install eshop games and dlc updates. If possible, yuzu recommends you use xci. I use a Mac and last night I installed awoo on the switch and ns-usbloader on my Mac for Pokémon scarlet. NETWORK METHOD: click the "NET or LAN method" in awoo installer and you'll be given your switch's local IP. open NS USB Loader and put your NS's IP and just select the .xci. the download will start automatically. Several other people have said this but awoo on the switch and nsusbloader on pc has never let me down.
When enabling the core container feature for an existing IP, the XCIX file replaces the IP directory and the output products.
