When the passenger sliding door closes the front part of the door latches, but the rear does not. It protrudes out about an inch and the car chimes incessantly while in motion. The internal microswitches often fail. Sometimes they can be cleaned to restore operation, but most often the part has to be replaced. Costs about $200. It is very common for this issue to also cause the battery to drain. 2010 Honda Odyssey EX-L; 160,000 miles; VCM is Muzzled (original VCMuzzler) Cleveland, Ohio USA.The internal microswitches often fail.
