Gel or acrylic, the most important thing is having them done and removed by a reputable technician with experience. Learning to do your own gels with soak-off polish is also a good alternative if you are into DIY, but it requires learning to remove the product safely anyway.

It's dry to the touch in a few minutes and indestructible in about 30 min.Acetone is much better and much faster at removing polish than nail polish remover. It also doesn't contain water: the worst chemical for our nails. I use a cheap oil around my fingers before applying acetone soaked cotton and my manicure clips to help mitigate the drying effect.
