Perhaps a lot of 2012's received volt gauges that were not calibrated properly. Also the long run of the battery cables to the battery in the back seat affects charging rates and voltage.

Happy to see what looks like a brand new battery and zero indication of corrosion at the terminals. I guess the interior location translates to the battery staying clean.
