Seller's Information. Return Policy: 3 day inspection and return policy on used guns and accessories. This is a Marlin 336 in 30-30. It was made in 1975 and is a North Haven JM marked Marlin. It is pre-safety with gold trigger. It has some use with nearly all the blue remaining and a few marks on the wood. The barrel is 20in.

I've only ever hunted with a Marlin 30-30, unless a shotgun only county. I have since passed my 1983 Marlin to my oldest, and acquired Dad's 1967 Marlin in it's place. That one will always be here. The JM stamp makes it a pre Remington buyout, real Marlin.In my opinion a JM Marlin is always a priority. A few years back I bought a REP 1895 45/70 Big loop laminate. It looked pretty good, but had a slightly canted barrel and would hitch up when closing the lever. ... which I feel is justified with the Remlins I see in the gun shops. JBledsoe. The JM stamp was just a proof mark applied to all guns made in the Marlin factory. All guns made before 2010 have the JM, The JM stamp did not go with the equipment to Remington's factory so no Remington produced guns should have the JM. The issue with JM stamping came around in 2009. Your rifle was produced well before that date and anyone who is truly interested in Marlin firearms, knows this. The stamp is likely under the edge of the hand guard. AndrewSome Remington built rifles have had older JM proof stamped barrels installed for the same reason. Some barrels on Marlin built rifles have been replaced with factory replacement barrels by competent gunsmiths. Those barrels, if not proofed by the factory, will not bear the JM stamp but are perfectly fine rifles.The JM SBL's are pretty rare and more valuable than the Remington SBL's. 1976 Vintage, pre safety, Marlin 1894 44 Magnum. This rifle features a 20 inch "JM" stamped micro-groove barrel, gold trigger, and the original buttplate. The original walnut stock and forend show various light handling marks but are in overall very nice condition. The bluing on the barrel and receiver is in great condition with very little wear.
