In addition to feeding problems, thumb safety weakness, and the general feel of being cheaply produced, I was only roughly 70 rounds in when my plunger tube decided to fall off the gun.

Lock the slide open. Seat a fully loaded magazine. Allow the slide to move forward at full speed by pushing down on the slide stop. If the first round out of the mag feeds fine, the extractor is the problem. It has incorrect geometry, too much deflection, too much tension, or all three.

I have shot one of the Stacatto Ps in 9mm and it choked a few times on 124g, but ran spicy 115 like a raped ape. My KHX has been incredibly smooth. Not a single hiccup in about 800 rounds so far.

On a 1911 the spring weight for the hammer (main spring) and recoil spring can be increased. About two years ago I bought a 10mm Kimber Custom II GFO for my woods carry pistol. It shot well, for me, but had a terrible problem with FTFs (failure to feed). I tweaked the extractor tension down and that mostly eliminated the problem, but it still occasionally occurred. Took it to my 1911 smith.To test it, I swapped barrels with my 10mm Stainless II and the result was the same with the Stainless II barrel in the Raptor slide. The Raptor barrel in the Stainless II slide with the same mag chambered just fine by racking the slide. I’d never fire it like this but manually working the slide it operated. I think you need to watch out for Idiot Scratches to the frame as they will show more than other 1911's. You also have to watch the area aft of the ejection port for brass/copper marks, which can be removed with Hoppe's #9.

I much preferred the Kimber in 10MM, with the ramped barrel and very well supported chamber, over the Delta. Still think the Eclipse was one of the best looking 1911 type guns I ever had.
