That's really kind of you. I'm not really that awesome, I just happen to love living things and I'm lucky enough to have a partner that loves them too and supports my crazy ideas (it's not easy living in a 2 bedroom urban apartment with 200+ plants, two dogs, and 4 fish tanks).

The tank fish are in bags yes, but the bettas cup in the cups already and if one dies the employee (at least at the location I worked at) is supposed to remove the sticker and put it on the fridge or something for management to keep and report the fish that died. The only thing petsmart does is feed and do the water changes.

Everyone’s bringing up ammonia, tank size, and weather but my first thought was they aren’t going to use chemicals or conditioners in water meant to be drank by livestock. So no dechlorination, removal of heavy metals, etc. other than when a cow comes and takes a slurp.
