I've never had a problem with a CD beyond repackaging (i.e., jewel case vs. digipak, etc. or slipcases not being included). There is a single disc version with this mastering, it's a Verve Classics CD from 2005 (red spine). The Deluxe sounds really bad, horrifying EQ and lots of compression. The previous CD from impulse (20 bit SBM by Erick Labson) shares the exact same mastering used in the Japanese Gold CD mini LP.The "Off The Wall" tracks that can be heard on "The Essential MJ" Has the same remastering as the 2001 SE. The original vinyl & earlier CDs sounds better IMO.
