Eidolan of Shadow and Mirana of Flame are interesting SF weapons. 15 Pali, 4 monk, 1 FvS gives DM/magical training for FI cha to hit/dmg. monk gives feats/No Mercyx6 with NiS+Falc. Some involve race/class/universal tree unlocks but a fair bit don't. I would say new players go look there instead of other places. If this is a first life character, consider starting with an 18 dex so you can afford everything at level 1 still. If you don't have enough racial points, just don't put points in the halfling tree at end game. Still put points in up to level 20 for the extra healing then spec out of it or spend less in vistani at 20.Combine that with great spells like sound burst, as well as awesome healing spells, and you have a match made in heaven. This character doesn't have much AOE DPS, but it makes up for that with very high single target dps. I can reduce fortification by 75% using the falcon and jade strike, and I have 32% armor penetration from molten silver gauntlets and 5% from the ship and yet ...Ranger gets a decent amount of skill points per lvl, so it will allow you to maintain those skills as you lvl so you can disable traps (and pick locks). That will make your play experience less painful as traps are a big part of DDO. Another build you could try is 18 Paladin / 2 Rogue.
