You do this by pulling the gear shift level into low, and pulling on the plastic trim. There are about 8 clips, and a couple of plastic pins to deal with. So, when a non GM box is installed, you need an adapter to turn off the power to the radio and to provide a circuit for the chimes to work. I have tried replacing the amp under the center console, the head unit, and all of the door speakers and it hasn’t resolved the issue.
