I think 6.75" is the best all round size for MCX .300B. It's only slightly longer than the Rattler, but better ballistics. A standard ar-15 trigger isn't compatible. To make it work you have to remove firing pin block in the BCG. I know this bc I removed it and only then did the standard trigger group work. Here're SIG's Match Duo Trigger's hammer from my MCX Virtus on the left and SIG516's mil-spec hammer on the right. The Virtus hammer is about 2mils or ~1/16" taller than the 516's.
